## PERMITS

Driveways, fences, plumbing, electrical all commonly require a permit BEFORE you begin work. Either you can complete the forms or you can ask your contractor to do so for you.

**Even if all you are doing is replacing a driveway or a fence exactly as it has been before, you almost certainly need a NEW PERMIT. Don't believe it? Call before you start: 585-428-7640.**

NOTE: If your contractor agrees to apply for a Permit on your behalf ask to see the official permit document before work begins and be sure to get the final approval document from the City after the work has been completed and inspected by the City. Save the final approval document with your permanent property records. You'll need it when you sell. (The permit document is NOT the same as the final approval document.)
