Remember to do you own homework. Different people have a different experiences with the same contractors and service providers. The Upper Monroe Neighborhood Association has not vetted these contractors or verified their information. It is your responsibility to make an educated choice.

GARAGE DOORS

• Doors Plus More (585-314-7104) Fantastic repair from Doors Plus More. Garage door opener suffered a mechanical failure, car was stuck in the garage. Called Precision first, NO availability for two days (on an emergency basis for extra $$!) DPM was great - Linda sent their tech to me within hours, and took care of the problem AND did an extra fix on the side rail that was out of alignment... all for a very reasonable cost. Highly recommend them if you need any kind of overhead door service!! Recommended by Rachel MIller

• Glenn Shaw Gutter Repair [phone]. Repaired loose gutter and cleaned gutters at rental. He has a truck with a boom and bucket. Also does repairs. Very reasonable and meticulous. Highly recommended by Howard Grossman

• Al LaVilla, Target Distributing and Contract Service [phone]. Painted our house and was extremely professional. He prides himself on being EPA certified and following all of the EPA lead paint protocols that are now legally mandated. He uses Sherwin Williams Duration premium paint. • John Skivington [phone]. John has done multiple painting jobs for our family. He is timely, professional and reasonably priced. He has been painting professionally for years. Recommended by Nicci Fitzgerald.

• Colors of Rochester [phone] - Tom Johnston - [e-mail]. Colors & Colors did a complete interior (and some exterior) painting project for us which included removing old linen fabric from our walls down to the plaster, repairing the walls and then applying new color. • Refined Wall Finishing (Faux Painting) - Wendie Laurel - [phone]. Wendie is a painter AND artist. She transformed, with faux painting techniques, our painted ceiling beams to make them appear as dark grained wood to blend with our furniture. Amazing !!! Recommended by Nancy Sears

• Boss Contracting - [phone]. Contact: Lorenzo DiSalvo. Painted the outside of our houses. The painters did an excellent job and kept a neat workspace. They also did a final "touch up" at the end to ensure that any areas that were "bleeding through" or missed received an extra coat of paint. They were also reasonably priced. He also does power washing and decks. He was kind enough to assist with replacing a security light. He is listed in yelp under powerwashing and painting. He also has even more experience painting inside homes. He is a meticulous worker and checks as he progresses to make sure he is doing what you expect....and his prices are reasonable.
