# 2023 April 29th: Clean & Preen | Clean Sweep

This year on April 29th during the City of Rochester's "Clean Sweep" program we accomplished two important tasks (despite the rainy weather): spring garden prep & clean up Monroe Avenue.

UMNA's **"Clean & Preen"** effort focused on clearing out our community gardens and getting them ready for spring planting and mulching.

To accomplish the second goal we joined forces with the South East Area Coalition and the rest of the "Monroe Village" neighborhoods (Pearl Meigs Monroe; Lock 66; Wadsworth Square; and even Park Meigs) to clean Monroe Avenue from the city line at Highland Avenue all the way to downtown!
