2024 April 16: 2025 Preventative Maintenance Project Public Meeting #1

The City of Rochester is held a meeting to share information and hear from residents on road improvement projects affecting Monroe Ave near Werner Pk and Culver Rd between Monroe Ave and Rt. 490.

Meeting Basics

• HOST: City of Rochester

• DATE: Tuesday, April 16th

• TIME: 5:30 pm

• PLACE: Lake Riley Lodge in Cobbs Hill Park

Residents of Upper Monroe are strongly encouraged to participate at this meeting in person. This meeting is open to the public. Advance registration is not required. The meeting will also be broadcast by Zoom. The Zoom link will be posted HERE before the meeting.

Project Description

The project will include, but is not limited to milling and resurfacing of the pavement, spot curb and sidewalk replacement, installation or upgrade of sidewalk curb ramps, replacement of traffic pavement markings, and adjustment and repair of manholes, catch basins, and water valve castings.

The project also includes recommendations for lane reductions and parking regulation changes on Culver Road south of Norris Drive, bicycle accommodations, curb bump-outs at select locations, and other safety improvements throughout the project corridors.

A pedestrian refuge island is proposed for the midblock crosswalk on Monroe Avenue at Werner Park.

Anticipated Project Timeline

• Preliminary Design: June 2024

• Final Design: October 2024

• Bidding and Award: Winter 2024/5

• Construction: April-November 2025

The public meeting date was initially scheduled for April 17th. It was changed to April 16th due to a scheduling conflict with the Mayor's "State of the City" Address. The public notice document below indicates April 17th. It has not yet been corrected.
