# 2025 August 15: Garden Stroll in Upper Monroe

## Background
There are many neighborhoods around Rochester with lovely gardens that might be considered "garden districts". Upper Monroe certainly considers itself one of those areas. Indeed gardens, parks, wooded trails and even an old growth forest and Rochester's highest peak are all a part of the Upper Monroe neighborhood.

The group will gather at 171 Laburnam Crescent <[MAP LINK](https://maps.app.goo.gl/mZmr7BXoSpo3veY28)> for a brief presentation of that garden by noted gardener, Michael Hannen. Then the group will stroll a little over one mile to look at other garden locations on the route seen in the map below, pausing along the way to chat briefly about various gardens and answer questions. At the end of the stroll we'll circle back to 171 Laburnam to share ideas for future gardening programs.
