2026 June 6th: Ladybug Day

Ladybug Day is a program of the South East Area Coalition (SEAC) developed in collaboration with Wide Water Gardens. Ladybug Day is co-sponsored by the Upper Monroe Neighborhood Association.

Event Overview

This is a casual, neighborhood-based, family-oriented community building event with food, music, art and lots of fun activities. The event is open to the public. Tickets are not required. Everyone is welcome!

PARKING, ACCESSIBILITY

Abundant public parking is available at the Culver Road Armory. You will be able to walk to and from your parking spot at the Armory via a paved footpath connected to the event site. <MAP LINK TO PARKING>. Also shown below.

Walk-in, limited mobility and wheel chair access

Those walking or using a wheelchair* will be able to access the Ladybug Day event from the Culver Road Armory parking lot and via the main gate in front of Wide Water Gardens at 345 Rosedale Street <MAP LINK>

Parking in close proximity to the site is extremely limited. However, you should be able to drop off those in a wheelchair* or with limited mobility near the event and then park on a nearby street or at the Culver Road Armory (see above).

Please be sure to obey all parking signs.

*This event is accessible by wheelchair.


Ladybug Event Layout

Event Schedule*

  • Parade begins at 11:00 AM

  • Line-up by 10:45 AM in front of 1006 Monroe Avenue at the corner of Rosedale Street.

  • 10:30 AM - Line-up begins at the NW corner of Monroe Avenue and Rosedale Street

  • 10:45 AM - Parade begins. Group will "march" down Rosedale Street to Wide Water Gardens (approximately 800 feet or .15 mile). The group will be on public sidewalks at all times and will NOT cross any streets during the parade.

  • The parade is open to all; kids especially! Costumes are NOT required. Come as you are to enjoy a fun activity.

LADYBUG DAY 2025 EVENT BEGINS WHEN THE PARADE ARRIVES AT 11:00 AM

  • 11:10 AM - Live Ladybugs released

  • 11:15 AM - Storytime in gardens, fairy house making starts, face painting begins

  • 11:30 AM - Zoo Mobile arrives at Wide Water Gardens

  • 12:00 PM - Netsins ice cream truck arrives and Keira Shae performs

  • 12:30 PM - Lyra and the Moonbeams perform

  • 12:45 PM - Teach Her performs

  • 1:00 PM - Bubble playground opens, fairy house making, nap time, bee keeping presentation

  • 1:15 PM - Possum Tones String Band performs

  • 1:30 PM - Zoo Mobile departs

  • 1:45 PM - Kit Carnahan performs

  • 2:00 PM - Bubble playground closes, face painting ends, fairy house making re-opens, keeping presentation, Netsins ice cream truck departs

  • 2:30 PM - Mt. Hope World Singers perform

  • 3:00 PM - Ladybug Day ’26 concludes

The following will be happending througout Ladybug Day:

  • Local artisan vendor tabling

  • Pirate Toy Fund give away

  • Coffee & samples by Boulder Café and Lounge

  • Pounded Tin ornament making

  • Nail pounding contest

  • Tool Shed Repair Crew info sessions and free repair sign ups

  • SEAC Tool Shed Career Explorers Post soldering and tile making activities
