Description of activities in Upper Monroe

At 10:00 am we will gather at the corner of Monroe Avenue and Rosedale Street on the public sidewalk in front of Brotherhood Of The Cross and Star - 1006 Monroe Avenue (MAP) for a brief welcome and some simple instructions. We'll also distribute trash bags, gloves, etc. No one will be required to stay until 12:00pm.

This is a "rain or shine" event. CLEAN SWEEP will not be postponed or canceled due to the weather.

One event, two efforts: Clean AND Preen.

After the intro one group will walk along Monroe Avenue picking up debris. The other group will head down to The Children's Garden on Laburnam Crescent behind 7-11 to preen that bed.

This is low skill, light work! Participants working in The Children's Garden may be using some simple tools and applying some fairly simple skills such as raking & pulling weeds. Easy!

This is also a family-friendly activity. Children under 12 years of age may participate when accompanied by a legally responsible adult. Teens may participate without a legally responsible adult but they will be partnered with adults.

Event volunteers who are over 18 years of age are NOT required to be property owners or even residents of the Upper Monroe neighborhood. Volunteers do NOT need to be a member of the Upper Monroe Neighborhood Association to participate.
