### The Basics
DATE: Saturday, July 11, 2026
TIME: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
PROGRAM START LOCATIONS (PICK ONE):
* **Pinnacle School No. 35 —** Parking lot entrances off Field St AND Laburnam Cres <[MAP LINK](https://maps.app.goo.gl/eqSU7Bzq6pXtSysd7)>.
* A Garden Stroll "Welcome Tent" will be set up just outside the parking lot on Laburnam Crescent.
* **Armory at Culver Road —** Parking lot entrance off Culver Road <[MAP LINK](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Z1FDus4EKDfedWgx9)>. Take first left after entrance to find parking closest to the Garden Stroll "Welcome Tent"
* A Garden Stroll "Welcome Tent" will be on the grass south of the the parking area near Hinsdale Street.
### Summary Description:
This is a self-guided walking tour that includes twelve gardens in the Upper Monroe neighborhood. Attendees may visit some or all of the gardens on the tour and move along at their own pace.
Attendees begin their Garden Stroll experience at one of two locations where they pick up a map and some information about each of the gardens on the tour.
Attendees will be able to chat with all the gardeners who developed the private gardens along the route.
Attendees will see various entertainment stations sprinkled along the route. The entertainment will include music and plein air painters.
In addition to private gardens there will be three community gardens on the route. The largest will be Wide Water Gardens at the north end of Rosedale Street. A community garden along the north end of Werner Park will also feature a music station. UMNA will have a table at the community garden located at Belmont Street.
### Background
There are many neighborhoods around Rochester with lovely gardens that might be considered "garden districts". Upper Monroe certainly considers itself one of those areas. Indeed gardens, parks, wooded trails and even an old growth forest and Rochester's highest peak are all a part of the Upper Monroe neighborhood.
