1. Monroe Avenue is free of trash & debris

Actions beginning in 2024

• Participate in the City of Rochester's program known as “Clean Sweep”. UMNA puts it's unique spin on this program calling it "Clean & Preen" so that we can attach some spring preening around our community gardens on and near Monroe Avenue. More on this topic under Monroe Avenue is a PLACE & a DESTINATION.

• Partner with “Walking For Rochester” to tidy up Monroe Ave on a regular basis over the warm weather months.

Time frame: Once every few weeks through the warm weather months

2. Properties along Monroe Avenue are well maintained and in compliance with applicable City codes and regulations

• Partner & problem-solve with the City of Rochester's Southeast Neighborhood Service Center to bring properties along Monroe Avenue into code compliance

• Code Compliance "High Priority" Cases

• Partner with property owners along Monroe Avenue to support their efforts to bring their properties into code compliance

Time frame: Ongoing

• Publicly recognize exemplary property owners with an annual award.

• Highland Award for commercial or rental property ownership in Upper Monroe

Time frame: Early June, 2024 and annually thereafter.
