# Monroe Avenue Redesign | Tracking Page

UMNA anticipates Monroe Avenue between Rt. 490 & Culver Road will undergo a redesign before 2030. Preparation for this project is expected to begin in 2027. This page will help track that project.

This page is organized like a "blog" with the most recent information at the top and older information below.

## Background

Every so often the City of Rochester schedules larger, more ambitious projects to update major roads.  Planning for these larger projects tends to take a couple of years. During that time the City partners with neighborhood groups to encourage community engagement.

UMNA has learned Monroe Avenue is scheduled to be updated before the end of this decade. Early planning for this project is expected to begin in 2027.
