UMNA will distribute up to 25 emergency home fire extinguishers to the elderly, single parents, and families in need located in the Upper Monroe neighborhood area. The intended beneficiaries of this program donβt always have the time or money to obtain a home fire extinguisher that meets current safety regulations. Many times extinguishers that have long expired are present but itβs not clear they will work or work safely when the moment of crisis arises. UMNA will partner with the RFD to help identify those in need of this program, raise awareness of the importance of home fire extinguishers and provide guidance for their care and use.
