2025 Primary Election - Tuesday, June 24, 2025

Primary elections lead to general elections. This year there are primary election races for Mayor, five city council At-Large places on the general election ballot and three places on the general election ballot for Commissioners of Schools in the Rochester City School District.

New York is a closed primary state, meaning that only voters registered with a political party can participate in that party’s primary. Democrats can’t vote in the Republican primary, and vice versa. Independent or unaffiliated are completely disenfranchised in New York’s primaries.

Once the Primary is over we will post candidates who will appear on the general election ballot in November.

Look for early voting information <HERE>. Find your polling place <HERE>
