# Highland Award for commercial or rental property ownership in Upper Monroe

Given to a property owner who has done an outstanding job of improving, developing or maintaining one or more commercial or rental properties in the Upper Monroe neighborhood. Given annually.

<summary>2025 Recipients - <strong>Melanie &#x26; Patrick Berl</strong></summary>

*In recognition of Patrick's and Melanie's redevelopment of two parcels that became available after two buildings were destroyed by fire in 2023. They combined the parcels into one and built a brand new two family home on the site now know as 319-321 Rosedale Street. This is the first example of a new home being built in Upper Monroe in many decades.*

*In addition, the award recognizes Patrick's and Melanie's many years upgrading and managing their several rental properties and respectfully working with their tenants.*
