Elyssa will update attendees on MAMA as an organization and the importance of a strong business corridor to the success of Monroe Avenue. She will touch on recent MAMA projects and accomplishments.
MAMA is an active member of the Monroe Avenue Revitalization Coalition (MARC). She will talk about why it's important for neighbors to work closely with businesses on common goals.
MAMA has some fun activities coming up later this year including "Small Business Saturday".
UMNA has identified seven categories <HERE> to recognize various contributions to Upper Monroe. Some awards are given annually. Other awards are more occasional. The awards described below will be presented at this meeting. Winners will be announced at the meeting.
Reservoir Award
Given to a resident (or a group of residents) who has (have) done significant work to build community in Upper Monroe. Given annually.
Highland Award
Given to a property owner who has done an outstanding job of improving, developing or maintaining one or more commercial or rental properties in the Upper Monroe neighborhood. Given annually.
Portage Award
Given to a group, an organization and/or an entity that has collaborated with UMNA on a project of importance to Upper Monroe. Given occasionally but not more than once each year.
